“La Borriquita”, officially the Brotherhood of Our Lord Jesus Christ in his Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem is responsible for kicking off Holy Week in Plasencia and for many years has been the first procession to set out in all Extremadura, punctually every Palm Sunday after midday mass in the Church of San Nicolas. The Brotherhood was founded in 2000 and took part in its first procession in 2003. Among its ranks, the growing participation of children increasingly notable, demonstrating the excitement conveyed during these days, wherein faith and tradition entwine.
