The La Borriquita religious float, the complete name of which is the Triumphal Entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem, is the first religious float of Plasencia’s Holy Week. It is carried through the streets of Plasencia on Palm Sunday morning accompanied by numerous children and young adults. It is a clothed figure made of royal cedar wood in 2000 by Mrs. Manuela Luque Bonillo. The donkey’s harness and Jesus’ sandals are handmade, embossed leather sandals. The religious float is always adorned with 4 white palms, like those carried by the members of the Brotherhood of Our Lord Jesus Christ in his Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem.
